How many driving lessons will I need ?

We are unable to state how many driving lessons you will require as this varies upon the individual.  Our drivers record sheets can quickly show you what standard you are at though, making this question easier to answer.  Our driving instructors are experts in assessing what skills you have and what skills need taught, thus saving you time and money in your goal to become a full licence holder.

How do I pay for my driving lessons ?

Driving lessons are paid directly to the instructor at the beginning or end of each lesson. If you wish to make a block booking and pay for more than one driving lesson this can also be done via your instructor.  We accept cash or cheques only at present.

What type of car will I learn in ?

Towards A Pass  has a well maintained fleet of vehicles with DSA (Driving Standards Agency) registered instructors.  For more information about the cars currently within our school, visit the vehicles and instructors page or contact us for more details if you have a specific enquiry.

How soon can I start my driving lessons ?

When you contact us we will find you an instructor within your area and get you booked straight in, for your first lesson.  We will endeavour to fit all new customers in straight away, starting you on your path to becoming a full licence holder.  Before you start your lessons however you will need to be the  holder of a valid provisional licence and be able to read a number plate from a required distance.

Before the practical driving test, your driving examiner will ask you to read the number plate on a stationary vehicle.

The distance requirement for the eyesight test using old style number plates is 20.5 metres or 20 metres if the new-style number plate is used. New-style number plates are easily identifiable starting with two letters e.g. AB 51 ABC.

If you can't speak English or have difficulty reading, you may copy down what you see.
